Happy birthday, Rach. Wherever you are I hope you’re well and smiling.
I don’t talk with Caleb and the girls much, but they did make it for a short visit last month. They stayed the night and had fun playing with the boys. It may have been a bit too much boy energy for them, but we found balance.
Out of nowhere Ryder was asking on Friday if he could play with Cher and Lina. We told him they’re in Pennsylvania and he responded with, “Can we go to Pennsylvania?”. Cute.
Caleb seems to be doing well. I haven’t seen him since everything was going down, and he looks healthier. I don’t know where you found that guy but he’s an absolute rock star of a dad. You couldn’t have left the girls in better hands, I’m convinced.
The ROTH funds made it to Ryan and me just the other month. That was a surprise, but I get how it happened. We talked with Caleb about it and we’ll be holding onto the money, investing it, until the girls are older and then getting it to them. I like to think that was the universe forcing us all the stay in contact. Or maybe it was intentional. That wouldn’t surprise me either.
Mom is doing ok. She misses you a great deal but she’s getting through it. She’s going through a lot of changes herself, and you indirectly had a hand in that. It’s good though. She’s happy.
I haven’t seen dad since that night. I don’t think I’ve spoken to him since then, or shortly after, either. I know you wouldn’t be surprised by that, neither of us being the chosen child and all 🙂
I’ve been talking to Ryan a bit, but it’s mostly investment related stuff. I haven’t seen him at all but him and Jen moved into a new, larger apartment in Chicago that’s closer to their work.
I’ll make more of an effort to keep in touch with the girls. Cher absolutely LOVED that Kaitlin takes ballet. She took her downstairs to her makeshift studio and taught her a few positions. She’s sending both of the girls a pair of ballet shoes. Caleb knows they are all welcome any time, and I hope they take us up on it once or twice a year.
I hope it’s awesome wherever you are and you’re having a blast. You’re missed.
