Appraisal Day for The Mansion

We’re finally here. Barely.

It’s appraisal day for The Mansion and while the house isn’t perfect yet, it’s as close as it’s going to get for now. After all, perfect is the enemy of all progress.

Our contractor stopped by this morning to grab the refrigerator and get it into place. There are a couple vanities that need to be installed, some hardware on the exterior door, exterior paint touchups, etc. Nothing like last minute!

Kaitlin just headed out to drop the boys at school and is headed down to clean before Erik, our appraiser, arrives at 10am. I pulled a bunch of comps for her yesterday and gave her printouts to help softly argue our case. There’s a fine line between being pushy with an appraiser and assisting in getting what you want. That’s why we send Kaitlin 🙂

We have a lot riding on this one, and I’m nervous. I’m always nervous when it comes to appraisals but this one is our riskiest yet.

Overall, I believe it will go well but you just never know. Here’s to hoping!
